Shichirigahama Beach

The stretch of coast the Enoden runs along, with Enoshima on one side and Mount Fuji behind it on clear days.

Shichirigahama is the beach between Kamakurakokomae and Enoshima, and it is the reason the Enoden ride is worth taking slowly. On clear winter days Mount Fuji is visible across the bay behind Enoshima. The beach itself is dark volcanic sand rather than white, and it is used by surfers year round.

Never crowded in the way the crossing is. Sunset draws people, but there is room.

Bon à savoir

Sit on the sea side of the Enoden — the right-hand side heading towards Fujisawa. Winter mornings give the clearest view of Fuji.
