Lieu de l'œuvre

Enoshima

The island at the end of the Enoden line — shrine, observation tower, sea caves, and the silhouette you see from every beach here.

Enoshima is connected to the mainland by a bridge you can walk across. The island climbs steeply to a shrine complex and an observation tower, and drops on the far side to sea caves. It is the landmark visible in the background of almost every coastal shot in this area, including the SLAM DUNK opening.

Pourquoi ça vaut le détour

It closes the loop: the island you have been looking at from the train all afternoon is the one you end the day on.

Quand y aller

Weekends are busy on the bridge and the main approach. The far side of the island is quieter.

Bon à savoir

The climb is steep — paid escalators run partway up. Sunset from the observation tower is the best time, but check the last escalator and tower times.
