Musée
Historical Village of Hokkaido
An open-air museum of 52 relocated Meiji and Taisho buildings on the edge of Sapporo. A large number were used as models in Golden Kamuy.
A large open-air museum in Nopporo Forest Park, where 52 buildings from across Hokkaido have been relocated and restored — a town street, a fishing village, a farm village and a mountain village. A horse-drawn tram runs along the main street in season.
Pourquoi ça vaut le détour
It is the easiest of the Golden Kamuy locations to reach — a day trip from central Sapporo rather than a flight to eastern Hokkaido.
Quand y aller
Quiet outside the summer holidays.
Bon à savoir
It is very large and entirely outdoors — allow half a day and dress for the weather. Winter opening is reduced, so check before travelling. The 2024 live-action Golden Kamuy film was shot here, and the village announced its filming cooperation publicly.
Golden Kamuy
The 52 relocated buildings — many used as models, and used again for the live-action film.
