Lieu de l'œuvre

Azabu-Juban Shopping Street

The arcade the characters walk through constantly. Old sweet shops and long-standing restaurants, in one of the most expensive districts in Tokyo.

A short, old shopping street that survived the redevelopment around it. The author lived nearby while drawing the series, and the street appears throughout — the characters shop, eat and meet along it. Several of the individual shops drawn are still trading.

Pourquoi ça vaut le détour

It is a genuinely good street to eat on regardless of the series — taiyaki, senbei and old confectioners, with Roppongi's prices five minutes away.

Quand y aller

Busy at lunch and in the early evening.

Bon à savoir

Sunday afternoon is the pleasant time. Many of the older shops close early and some close on Sundays, so go earlier in the day if you want the sweet shops.
