Uji Bridge

The bridge on the key visual, over the Uji River. One of the oldest bridge sites in Japan.

A long bridge over the Uji River, first built over 1,300 years ago and rebuilt many times since. It is on the key visual for the series and appears constantly, with the protagonists crossing it between the station and school.

Pourquoi ça vaut le détour

It is the centre of Uji: Byodoin is at one end, the tea shops are on the approach, and the location work is close enough that you can navigate by memory of the show.

Quand y aller

Busy with general tourism, especially in autumn.

Bon à savoir

Come early. Uji is a major tourist town and the bridge area fills up by mid-morning in autumn. The riverside upstream of the bridge is quieter and has better angles.

Sound! Euphonium

The bridge on the key visual.
