Laid-Back Camp (Yuru Camp)
The campsite from episode one, on the lake with the Mount Fuji from the banknote.
Yuru Camp opens at **Kouan Campsite** on Lake Motosu in Yamanashi, and the view across the lake to Mount Fuji is the one printed on the back of the 1,000 yen note — photographed from the Nakanokura Pass viewpoint above the campsite. You can stand in both places. The campsite is a working campsite with **online-only booking that opens 60 days ahead**, and it fills up, so this is one of the few pilgrimages that needs planning rather than just turning up. If you are not camping, the lakeshore and the pass viewpoint are both accessible without booking anything.

Questions fréquentes
Can I stay at the campsite from episode one?
Yes, but booking is online only through the official site and opens 60 days in advance. It fills up, so decide your dates early.
What if I do not want to camp?
The lakeshore and the Nakanokura Pass viewpoint above it are both accessible without booking anything. The pass is a 30-minute uphill walk.
What is the 1,000 yen note view?
The view of Mount Fuji reflected in Lake Motosu, seen from Nakanokura Pass. The photograph it is based on became the design on the back of the note. Go at first light for the reflection.
