Lupin the Third
The author's home town on the far east coast of Hokkaido, and it is free.
Monkey Punch grew up in **Hamanaka**, a small town of cliffs and marshland on the far eastern coast of Hokkaido, and the town has kept the connection going since long before it was fashionable. The **Monkey Punch Collection** inside the town cultural centre recreates his studio — the pens, paints, magazines and the tablet he was using decades before most manga artists went digital — with a real **Fiat 500** parked beside it. Admission is **free**. The town also runs Lupin-liveried trains and taxis. It is remote, and the Kiritappu marshland and cape are the reason to make the journey even setting the manga aside.
