The main ferry port on the Shikoku side of the Bungo Channel, with sailings to Beppu and Usuki in Kyushu. It is where Suzume arrives by sea. The terminal building drawn in the film was the previous one, which has since been demolished and replaced.
值得去的理由
For a film about closing doors on places that no longer exist, finding that a location has itself been demolished is oddly appropriate. The crossing to Kyushu is also a genuinely useful route.

The ferry to Beppu takes under three hours and connects this to the Attack on Titan sites in Oita and the Kamado shrine there — a Shikoku-to-Kyushu route that works as an actual itinerary rather than a detour.
