Sensoji is Tokyo's oldest temple, founded in 645, and the Nakamise shopping street leading to it has operated for centuries. The district is the one most clearly evoked in the Asakusa sequences of Demon Slayer, and walking it at night, when the lanterns are lit and the crowds thin out, is by far the closest match to the anime.

Extremely crowded 10:00–16:00. After 19:00 the shops close but the illuminated grounds are quiet and photogenic.

The Asakusa night scenes, including the encounter on the main approach, are set in this district. Nakamise and the temple approach keep the same layout.
