The Tabata slope
The slope near Tabata station where the two meet again at the end of the film.
A steep road running up from Tabata station to the ridge above it, in a quiet part of north Tokyo away from anything touristed. It is the location of the reunion at the end of the film.
Why it is worth it
It is on the Yamanote line, so it costs almost nothing to add to a day, and it is the emotional endpoint of the film rather than a set piece.
When to go
Quiet.
Good to know
This is an ordinary residential area with no facilities. Keep it brief and quiet, and do not photograph houses or residents.
