The fifteen Kochikame statues, Kameari
Fifteen bronze statues around the station, installed since 2006. All outdoors and free.
Fifteen bronze statues of characters from Kochikame installed around Kameari station since 2006 — Ryotsu immediately outside the north exit, Reiko nearby, a police box modelled on the one in the series, and a seated Ryotsu on a bench in Kameari Park that you can sit beside.
Why it is worth it
Kochikame ran for forty consecutive years and holds the record for the longest-running manga by a single author. This is the only place that marks it, and it costs nothing.
When to go
Quiet.
Good to know
Pick up the free statue map from the rack by the ticket gates or at the tourist office — the statues are split between the north and south exits and there is a separate map for each side.
