Anime location

Enoshima

The island at the end of the line: the bridge, the shrine approach and the terrace with the sea view, all used in the series.

A small island joined to the coast by a footbridge, rising steeply to a shrine complex, gardens and a lighthouse observation tower. The bridge, the Benzaiten Nakamise approach, Enoshima Shrine and the wooden deck at Nakatsunomiya all appear in the series, and Mount Fuji is visible across the bay on clear days.

Why it is worth it

It is a genuinely good half-day out on its own, and it is the western end of the Enoden line, so it bookends the ride.

When to go

Very busy at weekends and in summer.

Good to know

The island is steep — paid escalators run up it if you would rather not climb. Sunset from the west side is the best time. Avoid summer weekends entirely if you can.

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai
