Tamako Market
A working Kyoto shopping arcade that helped make the show and never stopped.
The Usagiyama shopping street of the series is **Demachi Masugata Shopping Street** in Kyoto, a covered arcade near the point where the Kamo and Takano rivers meet. The arcade cooperated with the production while the show was being made and has kept the relationship going ever since, with displays and a fan notebook in the arcade. It is a genuinely working local market — greengrocers, fishmongers, a tofu shop — five minutes from the Kamo river delta where students sit on the stepping stones.
