Sega / Sonic
An indoor Sega theme park in Odaiba. Rain-proof.
Sonic is one of the two or three Japanese game characters that a Western child recognises before they recognise anything Japanese about him. Sega has no museum, but it has Joypolis: three floors of DECKS Tokyo Beach in Odaiba, filled with the kind of attraction Sega has been building since the arcade era. It is fully indoors, which makes it the reliable fallback on a rained-out Odaiba day — and the Unicorn Gundam statue is a few minutes' walk away, so the two make one afternoon.

Common questions
Is Tokyo Joypolis worth the passport price?
Only if you intend to ride several attractions. There is an entry-only ticket as well, which makes sense if you mostly want to look around. Decide before you go in.
