Haikyu!!
Sendai, and an honest warning: the arena from the series is closed until 2027.
Haikyu!! is set in **Miyagi**, and Sendai is where the pilgrimage is — but be realistic about what is currently there. Sendai city runs a **"Volley Road"** collaboration through the covered shopping arcades near the station, and that is the part you can actually see, though its contents are refreshed over time. Two things to know before planning a trip: **Kamei Arena Sendai**, the gymnasium used as the prefectural qualifier venue in the series, is **closed for major renovation until around March 2027**, so there is nothing to visit there; and the model for Karasuno High itself is **disputed** — fans name several schools in Miyagi and Iwate and none has been officially confirmed, so we do not list one. Sendai is a good city and 90 minutes from Tokyo, but this is a thin pilgrimage right now, and we would rather say so.
