Digimon Adventure
Odaiba, drawn as itself in 1999, and the reason a generation knows the word.
Digimon Adventure is set in the real Tokyo of 1999, and specifically in **Odaiba** — the bay, Rainbow Bridge, the Fuji TV building with its sphere, and the waterfront parks. The earlier meeting between the children and the Digimon takes place at the **Hikarigaoka** housing estate in Nerima, a large 1980s development that is drawn recognisably. One correction worth making: the **Palette Town Ferris wheel** that appears in the series was dismantled in 2022 and is gone.

Common questions
Where is Digimon Adventure set?
The real Tokyo of 1999, mainly Odaiba — the bay, Rainbow Bridge and the Fuji TV building — plus the Hikarigaoka housing estate in Nerima.
Is the Ferris wheel still there?
No. The Palette Town Ferris wheel that appears in the series was dismantled in 2022. Do not look for it.
Can I combine it with anything?
Yes. The life-size Unicorn Gundam statue is the same walk in Odaiba, so two franchises share one afternoon.
